| Well, it doesn't happen often, but Surfari Charters got skunked fishing today. |
  PSYCHE!!! April Fools suckas...  I got to take my Dad and good buddy Nick out today. When these 2 get on the boat we always end up with a good catch. Here is my Dad bowed up on a nice one!  We saw this thing strike on the surface and go nuts, but it all happened so fast we weren't 100% sure it was a Rooster until we saw the big black stripes on the surface.  These things are some of the prettiest fish when they are all lit up boat side.  Dad and I with a trophy Rooster! After snapping a few pics, we got it back in the water and he swam away strong. Yeewww!!!!  Nick got his first Sailfish last year and was on board for the 3 hour fight of a 300 lb. Black Marlin. He's actually the one that got all the awesome photos of it for us! Here he is bending the rod again.  We don't see these things very often. The locals call them Atun Macarela which translates to a Mackerel Tuna. Pretty good description of what it looks like actually. They are super tasty and we loaded up on them today.  Dad hooked up on the spinning rod.  Not quite the biggest catch of the day... but someone's probably eating this tasty fish right now. Check back tomorrow for some more action. |
